What's in a WORD?
by Cathy Gideon
February 19, 2008

I’ve been a visual learner for as long as I can remember. So, I wasn’t surprised when, one day, I heard a word and immediately “saw” an acronym for it. [An acronym is a word formed from the initial letters or groups of letters of words in a set phrase or series of words, such as WAC from Women’s Army Corps]. I believe these acronyms are from my Heavenly Father. I can see acronyms at most any time; praying, reading, listening, singing, or speaking. My experience is that each time the Lord shows one to me, it surely is a timely “word.” Let me share some acronyms with you:

As I browse through my journal, I find that the first acronym recorded was for our name, GIDEON. Understand, it was a time when our family was being bombarded from all sides. I was at a point in my walk with the Lord where I was engaged in spiritual warfare and declaring with authority and power, in Jesus’ name. I saw:

Go
In –
Declare:
Enemy
Out
Now!

In 2004 I was experiencing excruciating lower back pain. One diagnosis was surgery; another doctor suggested, “Go home, lie on your back for 10 days and come back and see me.” The first evening, as I lay on my back, I cried out to the Lord that I trusted Him alone. Suddenly, the word TRUST blazed across the ceiling. I wasn’t supernaturally healed that evening; however, this acronym is one I encourage myself and others with often. I saw:

Total
Reliance on His
Unfailing
Sovereign
Touch

Proverbs 4:7 says, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.” The words WISDOM and understanding occur more than 140 times in the book of Proverbs. We are urged to seek diligently and earnestly after wisdom. Much of the time, we speak up without listening. As we discussed this one evening, I saw:

Wait
In
Silence,
Don’t
Open
Mouth

My husband, Gary, and I were listening to a CD as we traveled home from a conference. The speaker was talking about taking on the whole nature of Christ. He said we needed Christ’s DNA. I saw:

Divine
Nature
Activated

I read an article entitled “The Zone... A Place Where Dry Bones Come to Life.” “The Zone” is a neighborhood in the Phoenix area where Patricia King and Extreme Prophetic minister to the homeless. I was encouraged that the teams ministered deliverance and healing, prophesied destiny over broken lives, and shared the Word of God in the midst of extremely hot temperatures. I began to visualize the homeless in the heat, and the word SHADE came to mind. I saw:

Sovereign
Healer
And
Deliverer
Everyday

I had been attending TACF for about seven months when I realized Pastor Bob said “huge” quite often as he was preaching and in his normal conversation. During this particular service, as he said the word HUGE, this acronym jumped out:

Having
Unsurpassed
Gargantuan
Expectation

On another Sunday, Pastor Bob was preaching on TRIALS. I saw:

Trust
Revealed
In
All
Life’s
Seasons

In pre-service prayer, we were praying for the worship team. David saw Moses and the burning BUSH. He prayed that the worship team, like the burning bush, would become ablaze because the Lord’s glory was there. I saw:

Be
Utterly
Saturated in
Him

More recently, during a Sunday service, Pastor Bob asked for anyone that had a burden to pray for revival to come and share. As others shared, I heard the Lion of Judah ROAR. As He roared, “revival” came from His mouth and settled on those in the service. I saw:

Revival
Over
All
Released

We were praying about Pastor Bob’s upcoming trip to India. We declared and “focused” on those who would be coming to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ – like focusing on the bull’s-eye on a target. I could see an enormous bow being drawn back as we took AIM on the target. When the arrow left the bow I saw:

Almighty
In
Motion

One evening during worship, we were singing the lyrics, “Revive us, revive us, revive us with Your fire.” I could picture a blazing fire with the word FIRE hovering over it. Then I saw:

Father’s
Intense
Refining being
Established

There have been many prophecies given to our pastors, Bob and Carolyn, for TACF. Some of those include “Worship CENTER,” “Harvest Christian CENTER,” “Emerging Apostolic CENTER,” “Magnet CENTER,” “Epi-CENTER.” As he was sharing these I saw:

Come
Enter
Now
To
Explosive
Revival

I’ve often heard people say, “Be a BOLD witness for Christ.” I saw:

Be
Only
Lord
Driven

Here’s how I see GLORY:

God’s
Love
Overwhelmingly
Redeeming
You

In prayer, I saw the Lord spread a blanket on the ground, covered with yellow daisies. He sat down and motioned for me to come and sit with Him. After some time of being with Him, I saw the letters RSVP [this is a response given with a regret or acceptance to an invitation]. Then it was revealed to me:

Reserved
Spot for His
Very
 Presence

The Word declares over and over again that Jesus heals. Matthew 4:24 says, “Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them.” Jesus’ PASSION is for us to do the same in His glorious name. I see:

Pain
And
Suffering
Severed
In
One
Name

I pray you’ve been encouraged by what I’ve shared with you. These are but a few of the acronyms the Lord has shown me. I often tell our grandchildren, “You are uniquely you – there’s nobody in the whole world just like you.” I tell them that because our Heavenly Father has given each of us gifts. One of mine just happens to be acronyms. What gifts do you have? You can find out by spending time in His presence. We’re admonished to REST in the Lord and wait patiently for Him. When we do, we will be:

Revitalized
Every
Single
Time

Here at TACF, we serve, honor and celebrate our:

Totally
Awesome,
Compassionate
Father

. . . and that He is!

In Him,

Cathy
